26

So, umm...it's my birthday, today. I didn't know what to write because it's my own birthday so I'm just going to tell you a few things you might not know about me.

1. My sense of direction is none. Like if you ask me, at any time, which way is North or South, I couldn't tell you because I don't know. I might know which way is East and/or West; unless it's noon. Or at night.

2. I loved the first Twilight movie. I liked the second one less…and so on until the other day, I tried to watch the last one and it sucked so much, I just gave up.

3. My sleeping habits are horrendous. I sleep a lot. On any given day, I could sleep at least eight to ten hours. That is minimum. On weekends, I could sleep for twelve hours if I'm not bugged. Also, I go to bed really late. The earliest is around 1:30 am. On days I have morning classes, I get about four or five hours of sleep at most so I come home and take a nap for an hour or two.

4. I proudly admit to reading 50 shades of grey, all three of them, and loving it. I want a Christian Grey of my own, minus some weirdness of course.

5. In eighth grade, I used to bite my nails. All the time; even when there was nothing more to bite off. It bugged me so much but I didn't know how to stop. And then one day, I did. And then I started picking at my cuticles. I still do. I think I need help.

6. I despise doing the dishes. Like I hate it so much some nights after dinner I just dump them in the sink and go to bed. Eww, gross…I know.

7. The next worst thing is putting away laundry. They just sit in a pile on the couch, or the foot of the bed, or some random chair for days until I feel like folding for some reason. I always do though. And you should know, they never get worn off the pile.

8. I only watched the first two movies of Harry Potter. I didn't like the second one so I stopped. I hear it’s amazing, but I think it’s too much fantasy for me. Same goes for Star Wars, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings. Never watched any of them, and don’t plan to.

9. Today, I am cleaning our new place instead of celebrating my birthday.

10. I turned 26 today, and I don’t feel it at all. Maybe something is wrong with me or maybe something is really, really right. Either way, I feel about twenty at most. Responsibilities and adult are words I don’t relate with. I’m working on it though.

Guess Who Came To Visit?

My Dad!

It's been nearly a year since I last saw him and it was so good to have him back. He came pretty much the same way he did last year. On his way to Bangkok on a business trip. Seeing him after such a long time just made me realize how much I've missed him.

He has left for Bangkok already. It's way too soon, I only got three days with him, but I guess it's okay. Because it totally beats not seeing him at all.

Now I just wish my mom could come and visit too.

Somebody Tell Me What is Going On!!

I might be developing Alzheimer's. Is that how it works? I know it's genetic but that's all I know about it. Maybe I don't have it. Maybe I'm going senile really early...or I'm just extremely careless but not on purpose. My husband says it's the latter but what does he know? He's not in my head - because if he were, he'd know I hate it. Oh, how I HATE it!

Wondering what this rant is about?

Because I'm always forgetting stuff in places. Little things, big things, things that go in between - EVERYTHING!

Ooh, but when it comes to memorizing stuff for exams or just studying, I'm good. I don't have a problem with it. I don't forget people's names or places either. And when it comes to remembering numbers, especially phone numbers, I'm awesome at it!

My forgetting issue is very specific. I forget shit in places. Like I might leave a book somewhere and not remember it till hours later. But usually these things don't really mater. It doesn't cause much of a loss or any sort of damage. But then, other times, they really, really do. I'm going to tell you a bout a few of those times.

One time, I left my wallet in the library. I was studying there. I had my laptop, and books and other stuff too, and when I got up and left, I did not realize I had left it. It had money, my credit card, and my National ID card in it! It was only after I came home I realized I did not have it - and then I launched into full on panic mode. I told Nafew, and he was super pissed at me for being so careless. Which made it worse because I was panicking already.

Next day, I went to school and ran to the library. Soon as the librarian saw me, her eyes grew in recognition. You know, like, 'Aha! The moron who left a walled full of money and shit!' She had obviously looked inside to see who it belonged to and saw my picture in there. To make things worse, she turned out to be a bit of a troll because when I approached her and asked about the wallet and she went, 'Hmm...what color?' She was either mocking me or, being cautious, or maybe I was not the only one who left a wallet there and she thought I might take the one with more money in it!

Another time, I was working in the common room, doing an assignment with friends. Again, I had my laptop and books and stuff. But I did NOT have my wallet because I had stopped bringing it with me. By then, I just take some cash - only enough for the day - and stick it in my pocket. Anyway, assignment done, I went home. Next day, I woke up, got my coffee and sat with my laptop...

...and realized I didn't have my laptop charger. I had left it hanging in a wall socket. In the common room. At school. So back in panic mode, I called my friend who stays on campus and asked him to check if by some miracle if it was still there.

It was. And did I tell you this was over the weekend? Yep! So I had to wait till Monday to get it back.

And then when I was in Bangkok in January, I left my bag in a big ass department store! It had four passports in it! Who forgets a handbag anyway? ME! That's who. When my husband's nephew found it a few minutes later some guy had already taken it and was ready to look through it. ALMOST!

Nafew and I have had countless and extremely long conversations about this issue by now - because he wants to help me of course. One thing he told me was that before he gets up and leaves, from anywhere, he always checks his pockets and everything else to make sure he's not forgetting anything. That sounded pretty smart to me, because obviously it hadn't occurred to me before. Also, it sounded like something I could do. You know, a habit I can grasp.

Apparently not.

Because on Tuesday, I did it again. After spending an hour or so in the computer lab, I went to the washroom before I went to class. I wanted to fix my head scarf, so I removed my sunglasses (that I borrowed from Nafew) that I was wearing on my head at the time, and placed it near the mirror...and left it there.

Later that night, I remembered, of course, and told Nafew and he wasn't even pissed. It's like hes prepared for me to screw up by now. How depressing is that?

EXTREMELY. Because who wants to lose these?

Needless to say, as soon I got to school yesterday, I rushed to the lost and found - they didn't have it. Then I went to find the cleaning ladies that are always near the washroom I used on Tuesday. I asked them and THEY HAD IT!! They kept it for me!

Until now, I am fortunate enough to find everything I have forgotten and left in all sorts of places. But I am so scared that there will be a day I forget something incredibly valuable and not get it back! I don't know what's wrong with me, but I really, really need to know!

Do you think it might be a medical condition...or is Nafew right?

Because No More School Work...For Now

Hey you guys! How are you?

So the other day I was looking at more random stuff on the internet (read: browsing 9gag) when I came across the most relatable? (Is that a real word?) quote I have read to date. I am dead serious you guys! I don't think there is a single soul in this world that will disagree with me on this.

So I thought I would write a post on it. And then I thought that would be incredibly short. So I added one of the weirdest, the most accurate, and the most useful as well. All from 9gag. You should visit guys. It will be an education on a level you didn't know existed.

Let's start with the most accurate, shall we.

And then the most useful.

The weirdest...and by weirdest I mean OMFG+WTH!!

And finally, the most relatable (It's a legit word; I Googled it)

Tell me what you think about these :D

Also, if you want to check more stuff I find funny or weird, you can find me on Pinterest because I always pin them :)

An Apology

I don't know if anyone noticed I've been gone for like ever, but if you did...I am so sorry. I just did not have the time. I have been too busy earlier this week and the week before.

Let me tell you what has been going on.

First of all, last week Monday, I was in the kitchen when someone knocked on the door. I opened it and there was a stranger. He smiled at me and told me he was sent by the agent of this apartment to tell us that the owner wants this place back by the end of this month so do we need him to help us find a new place. IN ONE SENTENCE.

So a day after, we started apartment hunting and so much crap happened that we found a place and lost it along with RM500, all in one night. It was complicated. It still makes me too upset to to even think about it so I'm not going to go into the details. We have found a place but it's just one room and and quite pricey but it'll have to do because if we don't take it we'll end up homeless. I guess it's okay because I only have one more semester to go. I can do it. Please tell me I can do it?

Then there is school. As usual it has all been about presentations, assignments and tests. I've had problems with group members...so much so that for the first time ever, I became so mad that I actually told someone that they were pissing me off...and I didn't even feel bad about it. Because there I was, putting all my time, effort, and energy into it and they were just being selfish.

Good news is, it's all over now. We have worked through our differences and everything is done. I have one more presentation on Friday morning but all preparations are done with, and this morning I woke up and I could actually breathe.

After the presentation with our lecturer Mr. Bernard.

In other news, there's a baby in this house! A sister of one guy staying here is visiting and she has the cutest ten month old. He has one word in his vocabulary which is, 'Eh,' and loosely translated in our language it means, 'What?' So no mater what you say to him he's going to respond with, 'What?' and we'll repeat whatever we said. And it goes on forever. But then he gives you the best smile ever and you will forget you were almost irritated for having to repeat something over and over.

Hopefully after Friday, everything will return to normal and I'd be going to school, coming back, watching random stuff on the internet and going to sleep. I will also be catching up on reading blogs because I have missed so many!

The only fun I had in three weeks

I have missed writing here and I have missed reading all my favorite blogs. It's good to be back :D

The One Where I Brag Shamelessly

So this one time my bloggy friend Tara wrote about meeting a celeb chef and I told her about one celeb I met and then she and Robin wanted the story. I totally wanted to tell the story here but then I kept thinking how weird it would be to boast on my blog. Well, I'm over it and I've decided to go ahead and do it anyway.

It's not like I am a really lucky person or I have connections of any sort. At all. Meeting a few celebrities just came with the job I had. Some I only met but did not talk to. Others, I did talk to. But I never ever asked them if I could get an autograph or a picture with them because it didn't feel right, being that I was working and all.

Anyhoo...here they are.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony

This woman is beautiful even after the longest flight.

George Michael

That one woman from the Boney.M music group from ages ago

I didn't know who they were until after they left.

Russel Brand and Katy Perry

They were a nice couple. So sweet and polite :)

Dolce and Gabbana

Demi Moore and ASHTON KUTCHER!!

She's very bubbly and he's just HOTTT!!

Notice all celebrity couples I have met have split since. I wonder why...

Who are the celebrities you've met? Which one was your favorite?
