Random Thoughts

It's the holidays. Nothing is happening. I have nothing to write about. So here's a bunch of random thoughts.

1. I would love to run into these girls on the street. They have way more class than most girls I see these days. Also, they can make duckfaces and nobody would lose their minds.

2. Season finale of Grey's Anatomy left us with a cliff hanger. Again. I don't know how I am supposed to sleep until September. I guess I'll manage. Just like I have for nine seasons. I've never told you about my obsession with it - now you know. It makes me cry a lot. But I love it anyway.

3. 90201 is over. And as corny and unrealistic as it was, I loved it.

4. Nafew participated in a one-day futsal tournament the other day and it sucked. The coach sucked. The teammates sucked. And the spectators sucked. One time I saw a girl looking my way and I smiled. She then sent me daggers with her eyes. Looks to kill people.

5. I saw The Great Gatsby. It was cool. I enjoyed it very much. I never read the book so I can't compare and I kinda like it that way.

6. I watched Lilo & Stitch last night. I can't believe I passed on it this many years because it's amazing! My favorite scene is when Stitch says 'hi' to Lilo. And I cried when Stitch said goodbye. Don't tell me you didn't.

7. If these two make a movie together, I will probably watch it at least once a day everyday for the rest of my life. Or until I find something better.

Have a good day :)

The One Where We Went to See a Movie

Guess which movie I saw the other day and still don't think Robert Downey Jr is God's gift to humans?

That's right. I went to see Iron Man 3. In 3D!

I have also seen Iron Man 1, Iron Man 2, and The Avengers. And liked all four movies. I guess I just failed to see what is so great about the guy. Or maybe, just maybe I'm normal - as opposed the clearly delusional fanbase he has.

Wait! You don't know?! Oh my God, you have got to look it up. He has this fanbase who thinks even the ground he walks on is sacred and shit. I am serious! They seem to think Robert Downey Jr is Iron Man for real. They also think being obnoxious, rude, and all attention needy, somehow translates to 'cool'. I hate it. I mean I love the movies and all, but I really hate his personality sometimes.

Sometimes it is funny, but other times it's just annoying. I have seen countless threads, memes and blogs about how awesome he is. And it bugs me so much although I know that everybody has a right to their opinion and I am totally not being a Ross Geller and I don't think I'm always right, except I am, this time!

Anyway, moving onto other stuff, we went to see the movie on Sunday to a big ass mall and there were people with babies, and toddlers, and people with babies on the way EVERYWHERE! And being the dumb moron I am, I could not figure out why! Until we were almost leaving.

Because it was Mothers Day! And there was a mommy convention or something of that sorts going on and I think I walked by that place about three times, I just didn't know how to add two and two.

Also, I made a really big mistake that day. You see, we all know movie theaters are COLD. I remembered that before we left home. So I brought myself a warm cardigan and a jacket for Nafew. But I forgot socks!! One step into the theater and I was like, Gahd! I forgot socks. Ashley said we always need socks! And she was right. It was so freaking cold, I had trouble concentrating. No joke. But then a lightbulb went off somewhere in the dusty corners of my brain! I had just bought two shirts - don't know where this is going?

We stuck our feet into the shirts and kept them tucked under our butts. Take a minute to picture that one. That's right. We were literally curled into balls on the seats. And we were still cold.

I took this picture because...Paul Walker!

Did I mention we saw the movie in 3D? Yeah. So before we went in, I told Nafew about that time we went to see Tron with my stepdad. It was hilarious! He wears glasses cos he's shortsighted, like me. So in the theater, he was wearing the 3D glasses over his regular glasses and we laughed about that forever. And then he went in and fell asleep. Wearing two pairs of glasses! You needed to be there to see what was so funny. Tron was not his kinda movie, I guess that's why he fell asleep.

Nafew laughed with me when I told the story, so you can see the irony because yes! He went in, wore the 3D glasses over his regular glasses and nodded off! Because like always, it's semester break and we sleep at the wrong time and wake up and all kinds of strange hours. But the movie was great and we had a lot of fun anyway.

That was our Sunday. How was your weekend?
Oh! And also, Happy Mothers day (a little late) to all of you mothers out there! You guys rock!

A Bunch of Random Stuff Because 100

Hey you guys!

I swear I didn't forget you. I was just busy for a while. I was studying for my finals, but now I'm back!

While studying, I stumbled over an internet meme that I absolutely loved. But now that I want to share it with you guys I can't, for the life of me, find it anywhere, so I just made my own to share the wisdom I learned.

Now if you don't mind, allow me to blow your minds with the craziness of the internet.

Before I do though, I just want to say, this is literally the weirdest and the most wrong thing I have found in my entire life. I am not kidding. I don't think anything can top this on my WTF list (Oh yeah, I have a list!). I did find out later that this was all a hoax but that doesn't make it any less weird because, for a rumor to start, somebody has to come up with an idea, and the person who came up with this one has a disturbingly sick sense of humor.

Come on, Internet! I think this is too much. I'm sure some sort of line must have been crossed right here.

So, right about now, I bet you're thinking you've had enough internet for the day...

But wait!

I have some news...good and bad. The good news is that finals are over and semester break officially started today!! The bad news is that I have nothing to do and nowhere to go :(

To mark the beginning of the holidays, I watched the movie Anastasia at three in the morning. I loved it!

Also, this is my 100th post. I actually thought about doing something great for this post but all ideas I came up with on my own sucked and everything I found on the internet wanted me to list out a 100 things.

Let me tell you something. I tried reading some of those 100th blogposts in hopes of being inspired but it didn't help. Because I couldn't finish reading them. They were all too long. Also, some bloggers had to split the post in to two that spanned over a few days...apparently writing these posts were not that easy either.

So I figured I'd just write an everyday sort of post and get it over with.

Sorry if this is a sucky post. I'll try to make up for this soon. I promise.

Have a good day :)

She is Tall Too

Kids do the cutest things don't they?

I always read about the most adorable things kids say and do on the blogs I read regularly. Just the other day, I read this post on Raising Colorado, and it had me smiling like forever. Also, Lisa from The Dose of Reality has an amazing post about her son, who might hate me for calling him cute now that he's a teen and all but anyway, they write about these amazing things he and the other three girls do over there. And then there is Robin from Subtracting Additives, who writes about two precious little boys, that I feel are my little nephews because I read about them all the time.

I don't have a kid yet. But I do have two little siblings and they are the world to me. They both adore me. My little brother, being a boy and sixteen, is not so much into showing that anymore, although he still does I guess, in his own special way.

My little sister, on the other hand, who if we were in another age and time is young enough to be my kid, is all about showing how much she loves me. She's seven now.  Before I moved, she used to watch me get ready for work and try to mimic me putting on make-up. I used to buy her cute little stuff I see when I go shopping and she would not let go of them. I can't afford to buy her things like that anymore, but I recently sent her a cute little woven box I found in Bangkok and Dad says she treasures it.

Dad has visited me twice since I came here, and both times she sent me cute paintings and cards she made herself. One time when my uncle came, she gave some for him to bring over too. I keep them right where I keep my worldly documents because they mean no less to me.

Last week, just as I was leaving for my exam, all stressed and muddle-brained from having not slept for over twenty four hours, I received this from my brother.

'Dhontha' is what she calls me

It's her school work! She's in first grade and wrote about me for her school work, and it made my day! I went to sit for my exam, all smiles and no worries.

Look at that! She thinks I'm tall!

And isn't it adorable that she thinks I'm tall? It's probably because she's still pint sized herself. Wait until she grows up and realizes, 'I can't believe I thought she was tall,' or she might grow up and not remember thinking that at all. Well then, I have this to show her!

I love being an older sister and being loved so much. I just hope they know I love them so much too.
